Grounding means connecting your body to the earth's surface, traditionally by standing or walking barefoot outdoors. The Settleground Grounding Mat recreates that connection indoors through the ground pin of a standard US outlet.

The mat is made of black conductive PU. A cord snaps onto the metal stud at the corner of the mat and plugs into your outlet's ground pin.

Large (16 × 24 in / 40 × 60 cm) gives you room to shift your feet or rest both forearms at the desk. Medium (10 × 27 in / 25 × 68 cm) is long and narrow, and fits under a desk with both feet side by side.

So you can cover two spots at once — for example, one under your desk and one in front of the sofa. Each mat comes with its own cord.

No. The cord connects only to your outlet's ground pin, not the power slots — it doesn't send power to you.

Anywhere within reach of a grounded outlet: under your bare feet at your desk, sitting or standing; flat in front of your keyboard or laptop so your wrists rest on it while you type; or in front of the sofa while you read or watch TV.

Yes. Direct skin contact — bare feet, wrists or forearms — gives the most consistent connection. Socks or clothing between you and the mat may reduce it.

There's no minimum you have to hit. Most people simply leave it where they already spend time and use it while they work or relax.

Yes. It rolls or folds into a bag, so it can go from your home office to the living room or on a trip, as long as there's a grounded US outlet nearby.

Check that your outlet is a grounded, three-hole US outlet. Snap the cord onto the metal stud at the corner of the mat, plug the cord into the outlet, and rest bare skin on the mat.

A three-hole outlet is a good sign, but not a guarantee — some older homes have three-hole outlets without a working ground. A plug-in outlet tester, sold at most hardware stores, will show you in seconds.

Some older homes only have two-prong, ungrounded outlets. The mat can't ground you through an outlet without a working ground — email us and we'll help you sort out a return within your 90 nights.

A grounded power strip should work, since it passes the ground connection through. If you're not sure whether yours does, plug into the wall outlet instead.

Unplug the cord first, then wipe the surface with a damp cloth and let it dry before use. Don't soak it or put it in the washing machine.
